British media claims the US military can only sustain high-intensity airstrikes against Iran for 4 to 5 days.

On February 24, Xinhua News Agency reported from London (reporters Zheng Bofei and Yu Aicen) that an Israeli intelligence official revealed that even if the USS Ford carrier strike group arrives in Iran, the current military capability of the U.S. can only sustain high-intensity airstrikes for 4 to 5 days, or about a week of low-intensity strikes.

The report stated that after weeks of continued pressure on Iran without obtaining substantial concessions, U.S. President Trump is weighing whether to take larger-scale military action against Iran.

The U.S. has recently deployed one of the largest military forces to the Middle East since the Iraq War. The U.S. has positioned the USS Lincoln carrier strike group around Iran, and the USS Ford carrier strike group has arrived at Crete, Greece.

Experts on Middle Eastern issues at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, such as Aaron David Miller, believe that Trump's series of actions have put him in a "quagmire," and unless Iran concedes, he may be forced into a "self-inflicted crisis."

The report also mentioned that regional experts and U.S. government officials warned that if the U.S. launches new strikes against Iran or a larger-scale conflict erupts, Iran may retaliate against U.S. military assets in the region, American allies, and energy infrastructure.

On the 23rd, U.S. President Trump posted on social media, stating that reports from American media about Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley opposing military strikes against Iran are untrue. Trump said he "would prefer to reach an agreement (with Iran)," but if an agreement cannot be reached, it will be "a very bad day for Iran." He also emphasized that the decision to take military action against Iran "ultimately rests with me."
