12月29日开始，福建海警组织舰艇编队位台岛周边邻近海域及马祖、乌丘附近海域开展综合执法巡查，这是按一个中国原则依法管控台岛及其附属岛屿的实际行动。
中国海警局发布台岛及其附属岛屿执法巡查主题海报《巡控》，海报中多个海警舰艇编队从台岛北部、台岛西南以及台岛以东三个方向近距离进逼台岛，其中台岛东部有多艘中国海警舰船实施封控，以遏止“台独”势力与外部势力勾结寻求外援。海报以大号字体突出此次任务“巡控”主旨，并用中国海警舰艇缆绳打出平节“锁”牢台岛，彰显“‘台独’势力跳得越高，扼绞力量越勒越紧”的深意。
