China-Egypt "Eagle of Civilization-2026" Air Force Joint Training Welcomes Its First Flight Day
Xinhua News Agency, Cairo, August 24 (Yan Chao, Deng Dongzhi) On August 23 local time, the joint training "Civilization Eagle-2026" between the air forces of China and Egypt commenced its first flight day at an Egyptian Air Force base.
Amidst the roar of engines, Chinese Air Force J-16 fighter jets and Egyptian Air Force aircraft taxied and took off. Both sides engaged in medium-range and close-range air combat confrontations, closely aligned with real combat scenarios.
It is understood that the Chinese Air Force dispatched various types of aircraft, including fighter jets, refueling aircraft, special mission aircraft, and helicopters, to participate in this joint training in a systematic manner. The focus will be on training in air combat tactics, air superiority operations, combat search and rescue, and conducting troop deployment exercises.
"The joint training progresses from basic air combat confrontations of '1 vs. 1' and '2 vs. 2' to systematic joint operations, which is beneficial for enhancing the mutual understanding, tactical skills, and combat capabilities of both sides' pilots," said Shen Hao, a pilot from a certain unit of the Air Force.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Egypt. This is the second time the air forces of the two countries have held this series of joint training. The two air forces will continue to enhance mutual trust and traditional friendship, deepen practical cooperation, and jointly maintain regional peace and stability.
