China-South Korea Maritime Law Enforcement Agencies Successfully Complete Joint Patrol in Waters of Temporary Measures of China-South Korea Fisheries Agreement
In order to maintain the fishing production order in the waters of the interim measures of the China-South Korea fishing agreement and to deepen the cooperation and communication between the maritime law enforcement agencies of China and South Korea, from October 8 to 17, the Chinese Coast Guard ship Changshan and the South Korean fishing guidance vessel Mugunghwa 42 conducted a joint law enforcement patrol in the waters of the interim measures of the China-South Korea fishing agreement.

During the joint patrol, the vessels from both sides observed and recorded the operations of fishing boats from both countries, conducted boarding inspections, and carried out educational outreach for fishermen. The patrol lasted over 210 hours and covered more than 1,200 nautical miles, observing and recording 123 fishing boats, issuing educational warnings to 74 boats, and conducting inspections on 3 boats. Overall, the fishing production order in the patrol area was good. This joint patrol between China and South Korea is a practical measure to implement the "China-South Korea Fishing Agreement," further deepening the exchange and cooperation of maritime law enforcement between the two countries, jointly strengthening the management of fishing boats operating in the waters of the interim measures of the China-South Korea fishing agreement, and playing a positive role in combating illegal fishing, maintaining fishing production order, and conserving marine fishery resources.

The Chinese Coast Guard will continue to take this opportunity to strengthen business exchanges with South Korean maritime law enforcement agencies, deepen practical cooperation, enhance mutual understanding, and jointly protect the fishery resources of the Yellow Sea.
