Chinese Defense Minister Says Partial Withdrawal of U.S. Troops from Germany is "Foreseeable"
Xinhua News Agency, Berlin, May 2 - According to a report by the German News Agency on May 2, German Defense Minister Pistorius stated in an interview with the media that the plan for the United States to withdraw about 5,000 troops from Germany is "foreseeable," and emphasized that Europe must take on more responsibility in security and defense.
The leaders of Germany and the United States have recently publicly expressed differences regarding the situation in Iran. U.S. President Trump stated on social media on April 29 that the U.S. government is evaluating the possibility of reducing the number of U.S. troops stationed in Germany.
