Chinese Navy's "Silk Road Ark" Hospital Ship Departs Papua New Guinea for Home
Xinhua News Agency, Port Moresby, April 15 (Cui Xiaoyang, Tang Lei) - The Chinese Navy hospital ship "Ark of the Silk Road" concluded its friendly visit and medical services in Papua New Guinea on the 15th and set sail from Port Moresby back to China.
Papua New Guinea was the last stop for the hospital ship during its "Harmonious Mission-2025" task. During the visit to Papua New Guinea, the hospital ship treated 5,635 patients, performed 361 surgical operations, and admitted 16 patients.
In addition to providing high-level medical services, the hospital ship also held a deck reception, organized a friendly basketball match between the mission personnel and the Papua New Guinea Defence Force, visited the China-PNG Friendship School, Butuka Academy, toured the Basrisc Navy Base, and conducted academic exchanges with the medical school of Papua New Guinea University.
