Explosion of "package bomb" at Argentine military academy injures 4 people
On February 20, Xinhua News Agency reported from Buenos Aires (reporters Zhang Duo and Wang Zhongyi) that a "package bomb" exploded at the Argentine National Gendarmerie Academy located in the capital, Buenos Aires, injuring four people.
According to media reports, around 1 PM local time on the 20th, a "package bomb" exploded inside a building at the military academy, resulting in injuries to four military personnel.
Police sources stated that the package that exploded had been delivered three months ago and was stored in the building's courier room, detonating on the 11th floor that day. The recipient of the package was Diego Gasparutti, who served as the academy's principal from 2021 to 2022 and is now retired.
After the explosion, all personnel in the building were evacuated, and federal police, municipal police, the national gendarmerie, and medical emergency personnel arrived at the scene. The police bomb disposal team is analyzing two other packages that were delivered at the same time.
