Xinhua News Agency, Kuwait City, September 10 (Reporter Yin Zhao) Aden news: A Yemeni government official said on the 10th that after the government navy forces withdrew from the strategic Red Sea location of the Hanish Islands, the Houthi armed forces have deployed troops on the islands. That evening, the Yemeni government forces designated an area along the country's western coast as a "combat zone."

The anonymous government official told Xinhua that after the Yemeni government navy forces withdrew from the Hanish Islands on the afternoon of the 10th, the Houthi armed forces immediately entered and established military positions on the islands.

The Hanish Islands are located north of the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, close to major international shipping routes, and have significant strategic value for monitoring and ensuring maritime traffic safety.

On the same day, after several hours of intense gunfire, the Houthi armed forces captured the strategic location of the southwestern Yemeni province of Taiz, the Red Sea port city of Mocha, forcing government forces to retreat south to the Zubab area located between Mocha and the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait.

That evening, the Yemeni government forces announced that they had designated an area along the country's western coast as a "combat zone." Government forces spokesman Majid Nuzaili stated in a declaration broadcast on Yemeni national television that government forces would use "various types of weapons and firepower" to strike against Houthi armed personnel and military equipment operating in the designated area.
