Xinhua News Agency, Tehran, September 9 - The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran stated on the 9th that the Revolutionary Guard launched missile strikes against two U.S. Navy destroyers in response to the U.S. attacks on Iranian oil tankers.

The statement said that Iran successfully struck the U.S. Navy destroyers DDG-119 and DDG-53, causing "significant damage" to them. These two destroyers are equipped with cruise missiles and the Aegis combat system.

Earlier, the U.S. Central Command announced on social media that after Iran attacked a U.S. naval vessel, the U.S. military destroyed five Iranian oil tankers.

The report stated that in the past two days, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran launched ballistic missile attacks against a U.S. Navy ship twice. The ship evaded the Iranian attacks and continued its patrol mission, with no U.S. personnel injured.
