Iran claims to have struck US and Israeli air defense monitoring facilities, destroying 7 air defense early warning radars.
On the evening of the 7th local time, the spokesperson for the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Naini, stated that the Iranian armed forces, in recent strike operations, have affected some of the U.S. and Israeli air defense and intelligence surveillance facilities in the region.
Naini mentioned that a total of 7 advanced radars, which constitute the regional air defense early warning network, were destroyed during the relevant operations, including the FPS strategic radar deployed at the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. Additionally, the TPY radar of the THAAD system deployed in Jordan and a TPY radar located in the UAE were also targeted in the operations.
Naini stated that these facilities are an important part of the U.S. extensive monitoring, interception, and air defense network in the Middle East. With the destruction of these key radars and the THAAD system, the U.S. military's monitoring and air defense capabilities in the region have been severely impacted.
