Iran Claims to Use "Qader-380" and Other Missiles to Strike US Destroyer
Xinhua News Agency, Tehran, March 4 - According to Iranian media reports on the 4th, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued announcement No. 19 stating that Iran used missiles such as the "Qader-380" to strike and hit a U.S. destroyer.
The announcement said that a U.S. tanker was refueling a U.S. destroyer more than 600 kilometers off the coast of Iran in the Indian Ocean when it was "heavily struck" by IRGC missiles, causing a "large fire on the decks" of both the destroyer and the tanker.
In February 2025, the IRGC Navy revealed an underground missile facility where the "Qader-380" missile made its debut. The IRGC stated that the missile has a range of over 1,000 kilometers and is equipped with anti-jamming capabilities.
