Iranian Armed Forces: US Attacks Oil Tankers and Conducts Airstrikes on Coastal Areas, Iran Has Already Counterattacked

In the early hours of the 8th local time, a spokesperson for the Central Command of the Iranian Armed Forces, Khatam al-Anbiya, issued a statement claiming that the U.S. military violated the ceasefire agreement by attacking a tanker sailing from the coastal waters of Jask, Iran, towards the Strait of Hormuz, as well as another vessel entering the Strait of Hormuz opposite the port of Fujairah in the UAE.

The statement also mentioned that the U.S. collaborated with certain regional countries to launch airstrikes on the coastal civilian areas of Iran, including Hormuz, Sirik, and Qeshm Island.

The statement indicated that the Iranian Armed Forces retaliated against U.S. military vessels east of the Strait of Hormuz and south of Chabahar port, claiming to have caused "significant losses."

The spokesperson emphasized that Iran will respond to any acts of aggression.

The commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy stated that following the U.S. military's violation of the ceasefire and the attack on the Iranian tanker, as well as the approach of its destroyers to the Strait of Hormuz, Iran launched a large-scale joint operation.

The commander stated that the operation utilized various ballistic missiles, anti-ship cruise missiles, and drones to strike relevant targets, and mentioned that high-explosive warheads were used to attack the "enemy destroyers."

The statement claimed that intelligence indicated U.S. vessels suffered "significant losses," and three vessels quickly withdrew from the Strait of Hormuz area thereafter. (Reporter Li Zhao from the General Station)
