Iranian Media Restores Details of US Destroyer's Failed Passage Through the Strait of Hormuz
According to a report by the Iranian News Television on April 12, two U.S. Navy destroyers recently attempted to enter the Persian Gulf, but after being "locked on" by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, the U.S. vessels were forced to retreat, just "minutes away" from being completely destroyed.
The report stated that when the two U.S. destroyers and accompanying vessels arrived at the entrance of the Persian Gulf, Iranian cruise missiles had already completed their "lock-on," and attack drones were simultaneously deployed, giving the U.S. ships a 30-minute window to retreat. The two U.S. warships chose to retreat immediately, just "minutes away" from being completely destroyed.
The report mentioned that the U.S. vessels employed various deceptive tactics, including turning off their Automatic Identification System, impersonating Omani merchant ships, and choosing to navigate along shallow coastal routes, but all were detected in advance by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy carrying out patrol duties.
The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting reported on the 12th that the two U.S. destroyers attempted to cross the Strait of Hormuz but were unsuccessful, evolving into a "failed propaganda operation."
The report also stated that the purpose of the U.S. ships attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz was to "create false results" under the ceasefire situation and to exert influence on U.S.-Iran negotiations.
Currently, the U.S. has not confirmed the Iranian reports.
