Xinhua News Agency, Tehran, July 22 - According to a report from Iran's Tasnim News Agency on the 22nd, a military source in Iran stated that if the U.S. strikes Iranian bridges or power plants, Iran will retaliate by targeting energy and other infrastructure in the region that has ties to U.S. interests.
The source responded to U.S. President Trump's threat to attack Iranian bridges or power plants by saying, "The Americans should have fully realized in the past 10 days that Iran has the capability to strike any target it wishes to hit."
The source also stated, "Iran has a steely resolve in exercising its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz and will never allow the Strait of Hormuz to become a tool for threatening Iran again. Vessels that coordinate with Iran and accept its arrangements can pass safely through the Strait of Hormuz; otherwise, Iran will firmly exercise its control over the strait to ensure its long-term security."
Earlier on the 22nd, Trump posted on social media that from now on, every time Iran fires on ships in the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. will bomb and destroy an Iranian bridge or power plant.
