Iranian President: The US and Israel Must Stop Aggression to End the War
Xinhua News Agency, Tehran, March 21 - The Islamic Republic News Agency reported on the 21st that Iranian President Raisi stated during a phone call with Indian Prime Minister Modi that the war and conflict in the region can only end if the United States and Israel immediately cease their acts of aggression and guarantee that such acts will not happen again.
Raisi said during the call that Iran has not instigated war, and that the U.S. and Israel have launched military aggression against Iran during nuclear negotiations without any reason, logic, or legal basis, resulting in the deaths of Iran's Supreme Leader, senior military commanders, and numerous civilians.
He refuted the U.S. excuse of "preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons" as a justification for military strikes against Iran, stating that Iran has repeatedly emphasized its willingness to accept verification and oversight of its peaceful nuclear activities.
He also stated that to achieve peace and stability in the West Asia region, a security framework composed of regional countries should be established, so that peace and security are guaranteed by the countries in the region themselves, free from foreign interference.
The report from the Islamic Republic News Agency also mentioned that Modi expressed deep concern over the regional tensions and escalation of conflicts, strongly condemning any attacks on regional energy infrastructure, viewing them as a serious threat to global food and energy security, and calling on all parties to maintain the security of the Strait of Hormuz and the freedom of navigation in the Persian Gulf.
The report stated that Modi emphasized that war is not in the interest of any party, and that all parties must quickly turn to the path of peace.
