Iran's Foreign Ministry Condemns US Military for Harassing Multiple Iranian Oil Tankers and Merchant Ships

On the 9th local time, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement strongly condemning the U.S. military's harassment and aggressive actions against several Iranian oil tankers and merchant ships in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman on the evening of September 8.

The statement pointed out that the U.S. military actions against Iranian merchant ships are a manifestation of the U.S.'s continued aggression, maritime blockade, and economic warfare against Iran, which seriously violates the United Nations Charter and international law, posing a severe threat to regional and international peace and security.

In response, the Iranian armed forces exercised their right to self-defense, carrying out defensive strikes against U.S. military base facilities located in Jordan and several U.S. aggressive warships. The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Iran's determination to safeguard national sovereignty and interests is unwavering, and the armed forces will resolutely counter any military aggression. Furthermore, the statement once again reminded the United Nations Security Council and the United Nations Secretary-General to take immediate action regarding the U.S.'s aggressive actions and blatant violations of international peace and security.
