Iran's Revolutionary Guard Claims Strikes on U.S. Military Bases in Response to Attacks in Coastal Areas

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran stated in a declaration early on the 27th local time that, following Israel's violation of the ceasefire agreement in southern Lebanon, the United States also breached its commitments a few hours ago, launching airstrikes on Iran's coastal areas under various pretexts due to a non-compliant vessel passing through unauthorized routes in the Strait of Hormuz. In response to this aggression, the naval forces of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard struck U.S. positions in the region.

The statement also mentioned that according to Article 5 of the Iran-U.S. memorandum of understanding, the management of passage through the Strait of Hormuz is the responsibility of Iran; however, the U.S. attempts to incite various parties to violate this commitment have received necessary retaliation, stating, "In the future, if aggression occurs again, the scale of our counterattack will be greater than this time."

On June 26 local time, the U.S. Central Command issued a statement indicating that U.S. Central Command forces conducted strikes against Iran that day in response to an incident involving an attack on a commercial vessel passing through the Strait of Hormuz the previous day.
