On April 30 local time, the Israel Defense Forces announced that they had recently begun striking the infrastructure of Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for a drone attack on northern Israel that morning, stating that the target was an Israeli artillery position near the temporary border between Lebanon and Israel.
The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that a Hezbollah drone attacked an area near the northern Israeli town of Shimonah, and stated that the situation is still under investigation.
Additionally, Hezbollah claimed to have shot down an Israeli Hermes 450 drone in southern Lebanon that day. The Israel Defense Forces had previously confirmed that a drone was downed by a surface-to-air missile fired by Hezbollah.
