Xinhua News Agency, Gaza, August 2 (Reporter Zhao Weihong, Huang Zemin) - Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the Palestinian Civil Defense Department in the Gaza Strip, stated in a video statement on the 2nd that Israeli military drones attacked multiple locations in the Gaza Strip that day, resulting in at least 18 deaths, including 2 women and 4 children.
Basal said the targets of the Israeli airstrikes included residential apartments, tents for displaced persons, civilian vehicles, and gathering places for residents.
Basal reported that the most recent attack occurred that evening when an Israeli drone fired two missiles at a civilian vehicle in Gaza City, killing 4 people; the Israeli military also conducted an airstrike on a tent in western Gaza City, resulting in two deaths, including a 13-year-old child, and injuring another 8 people. Earlier that afternoon, the Israeli military airstriked a jeep in the central Gaza Strip city of Deir al-Balah, killing two people; additionally, the Israeli military launched an airstrike on a crowd near the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza Strip, resulting in 1 death and multiple injuries.
In another statement that day, Basal indicated that the Israeli military carried out a series of airstrikes on residential apartments in Gaza City, Khan Younis, and Deir al-Balah, resulting in 9 deaths, including 3 children.
The Israeli military has not issued any statements regarding this.
