Xinhua News Agency, Gaza, June 2 (Reporters Huang Zemin, Zhao Weihong) According to a report from the Palestinian News Agency on the 2nd, the Israeli army attacked multiple locations in the Gaza Strip that day, resulting in 3 deaths. The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) reiterated its willingness to transfer governance of the Gaza Strip.

The report stated that the targets of the Israeli attacks included a car in the central Gaza town of Zawida, a vehicle in the central city of Deir al-Balah, and a tent housing displaced persons in the southern Khan Younis area.

Hamas spokesman Hazim Qasim stated in a statement on the 2nd that the so-called "Peace Committee" led by the United States claims that Hamas is unwilling to transfer governance of the Gaza Strip, which is a lie aimed at providing cover for Israel's continued aggression.

Qasim said that Hamas is fully prepared and willing to transfer all governance of the Gaza Strip to the previously agreed-upon Palestinian technocratic committee. The obstacles faced by the latter's work mainly come from Israel and the "Peace Committee" senior representative in Gaza, Nikolai Mladenov.

According to a report by the Israel Times on the 1st, the mediators for the Gaza ceasefire plan to restart negotiations with Hamas regarding disarmament in Egypt this week. This negotiation is currently largely at a standstill, as Hamas refuses to accept the "Peace Committee's" proposal on disarmament and demands that Israel first effectively implement the terms of the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.

Since the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement took effect in October 2025, Israel has continuously launched attacks on the grounds that Hamas has violated the ceasefire agreement. Data released by the Gaza health department on the 2nd shows that since the agreement took effect, Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip have resulted in 933 deaths and 2,868 injuries.
