Xinhua News Agency, Jerusalem, February 24 (Reporter Pang Xinyi, Feng Guorui) The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated on the 24th that the Israeli military "fired warning shots" towards the Lebanese side in southern Lebanon that day.

IDF spokesperson Ella Wavaya said on the 24th that earlier that day, the Israeli military discovered Lebanese soldiers setting up an "uncoordinated" military outpost near the "IDF operational area" in southern Lebanon. The Israeli military subsequently issued a "warning" to the Lebanese army through "communication channels," demanding that they "cease activities." After receiving "no response," the Israeli military "fired warning shots" at them.

In November 2024, Israel reached a ceasefire agreement with Lebanon, but Israel refused to fully withdraw its troops from southern Lebanon, citing the Lebanese Hezbollah's attempts to rebuild military capabilities and violations of the ceasefire agreement as reasons for frequent airstrikes against Lebanon.
