Xinhua News Agency, Jerusalem, April 16 (Reporters Wang Zhuolun, Chen Junqing) The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated on the 16th that in recent military operations in the Gaza Strip, the IDF killed several armed members of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), including a commander of the communications department and two commanders of the production department.

The statement said that on the 14th, IDF forces from the Southern Command launched an airstrike in the Gaza City area, killing Hamas communications department commander Ahmad Abu Hdeira, who had been involved in advancing attack plans against the IDF and posed a direct threat to them.

The statement also mentioned that in another airstrike in the Gaza City area on the 13th, the IDF killed two key members of Hamas's production department, Islam Hisham Riyad Kanita and Mahmoud Hamid Youssef Hamdouna, who had participated in activities related to rebuilding Hamas's military capabilities during the ceasefire.

The statement indicated that the IDF Southern Command will continue operations in the area to eliminate any "imminent threats."
