Israeli Army Launches Large-Scale Raid in the West Bank
Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, July 1 - Sources from the Palestinian West Bank reported that the Israeli army launched large-scale raid operations in multiple towns in the region on June 30, searching homes and arresting at least one Palestinian. The day before, the Israeli military shot dead a 15-year-old Palestinian boy in the central West Bank city of Birzeit.
The Qatar News Agency cited informed sources stating that the Israeli army stormed several towns and villages in Ramallah and Birzeit on June 30. In the town of Beitunia, west of Ramallah, the Israeli army arrested a Palestinian man after searching his residence. In the town of Abwein, north of Ramallah, the Israeli army searched multiple Palestinian homes.
Sources said the Israeli army also violently searched six houses in the Al-Ahmad area and destroyed a surveillance system. In Nablus, the Israeli army entered the headquarters of a charity organization, causing damage inside the building, and raided the Balata and Askar refugee camps east of the city. In the town of Yatta, south of Hebron, the Israeli army searched several households and blocked some roads, causing disruptions for local residents and vehicles.
Previously, the Palestinian Ministry of Health issued a statement on June 29 saying that the Israeli army killed a 15-year-old Palestinian boy in Birzeit that day, who was shot in the head and chest. The Israeli army responded by stating that its troops encountered a "riot" during their duty, with stones thrown at Israeli soldiers, prompting them to open fire and hit a suspect.
The Qatar News Agency reported that in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, there are almost daily acts of violence by the Israeli army, settler invasions, and arrests of Palestinians.
