Israeli military receives new batch of Micro-TAVOR rifles

Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) said Monday that it has delivered a new batch of X95 Micro-TAVOR rifles to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in coordination with the Israeli Ministry of Defense.

The delivery is intended to support immediate force readiness and sustain infantry equipment requirements under ongoing operational conditions.

According to IWI, “IWI supports IDF readiness with a new delivery of X95 Micro-TAVOR rifles, in coordination with the Israeli Ministry of Defense. Compact, reliable, and built for modern combat environments.”

The immediate relevance of the delivery lies in its focus on infantry readiness and equipment sustainment. For military units operating under active deployment cycles, timely replacement of worn weapons and provisioning of newly mobilized personnel are critical to maintaining combat effectiveness.

The X95 Micro-TAVOR is a compact bullpup assault rifle platform developed by IWI and widely used by Israeli military and security forces. Its bullpup configuration places the action and magazine behind the trigger group, allowing the rifle to retain a full-length barrel while reducing overall length. This design improves maneuverability in urban combat, armored vehicles, confined spaces, and close-quarters engagements, where shorter weapon profiles can provide a clear operational advantage.

The platform is typically chambered in 5.56×45 mm NATO and is built as a modular system, allowing variants to be configured for different mission requirements.
