Japan Reveals Cause of F2 Fighter Jet Crash: Engine Not Properly Maintained for a Long Time
On the 24th local time, the Japan Air Self-Defense Force announced the investigation results regarding the crash of an F2 fighter jet off the coast of Ibaraki Prefecture last year. The results show that the engine of the crashed fighter had not received proper maintenance for approximately 3 years and 7 months.

In August last year, an F2 fighter jet from the Japan Air Self-Defense Force crashed in the waters near Ibaraki Prefecture, with one pilot ejecting and escaping without serious injury. It is understood that the involved aircraft was stationed at the Hyakuri Air Base in Ibaraki Prefecture. At the time of the accident, the aircraft was conducting flight training.
