Kuwait Claims Its Power Generation and Desalination Plant Has Been Attacked Continuously for Three Days
Xinhua News Agency, Kuwait City, July 19 (Reporter Yin Zhao) The Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy issued a statement on the 19th, saying that the power generation and seawater desalination plant that was attacked on the 17th was again targeted on the same day. This marks the third attack on power generation and seawater desalination facilities in the country within three days.
The ministry stated on social media that the attack was launched by Iran, resulting in a fire at the facility and affecting the operation of numerous generator units. The Kuwaiti government immediately activated its emergency plan to fully control the damage and maintain the stable operation of the national power grid.
The statement also called on local residents to conserve electricity to alleviate the load on the power system.
The ministry indicated on the 18th that a power generation and seawater desalination plant in the country was attacked that day, causing a fire.
Earlier on the 19th, the Kuwaiti Armed Forces stated that its air defense systems "are intercepting enemy missile and drone attacks."
