On the afternoon of the 17th local time, the Kuwaiti military announced that "several" personnel belonging to the Kuwaiti Army were injured in a drone attack launched by Iran on Kuwaiti territory earlier that morning.

The Kuwaiti military reported early on the 17th that the Kuwaiti air defense system intercepted "hostile" missiles and drones. Subsequently, a statement from the Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy indicated that a seawater desalination and power generation facility within Kuwait was set on fire due to the attack.
