The 2026 college entrance examination application process is about to begin, and enrolling in military academies to serve the country’s defense is the dream of countless young people. On June 9, the Ministry of Defense released the latest enrollment plan for this year's military academies recruiting regular high school graduates.

Regular high school graduates applying to military academies must be between 16 and 20 years old;

Their physical fitness test scores during high school must meet or exceed the passing standard;

Their college entrance examination scores must reach the special type enrollment control line or the first batch line in their province;

Both current and past regular high school graduates can apply.

The basic process for military examination and admission consists of five steps: political assessment, filling out application forms, setting military examination lines, interviews and physical examinations, and admission.

During the interview and physical examination stage, military academies recruiting regular high school graduates implement the "Military Standards for Selecting Officers and Civilian Personnel," which has specific requirements for various physical qualities such as vision, height, and weight.

Uncorrected vision: no less than 4.5;

Height: males must be over 162 cm, females over 158 cm;

Weight: male body mass index between 17.5 and 30, female body mass index between 17 and 24.

Candidates who pass the political assessment, interview, and physical examination, and whose scores meet the admission score line of their chosen academies, will have their applications processed by the provincial recruitment committee office in advance batches, ranked from high to low based on scores, and admitted after the academies review the applications. Those who are not admitted or not processed can participate in subsequent regular batch admissions.

If these direct relatives have not committed crimes such as violating the party's policies, splitting the country, or engaging in terrorism, the political review usually poses no issues. The so-called direct relatives mainly refer to those with a guardianship relationship; distant relatives, if they have a direct guardianship relationship with us, also need to undergo political review.
