Ministry of Defense: This Year the Entire Army Will Organize Over 2,100 Open Camp Activities

Reporter: In recent years, military open activities such as the Navy's "Maritime Journey" and the Air Force's aviation open events have allowed more and more citizens to enter military camps, understand the achievements in national defense and military construction, and have received widespread praise from all sectors of society. What are the plans for military open activities this year?

Jiang Bin: Chairman Xi pointed out the need to strengthen national defense education and enhance the national defense awareness of the entire population, making caring for, loving, building, and defending national defense a common ideological consensus and conscious action throughout society. The military organizes open activities in military camps based on the "National Defense Education Law of the People's Republic of China," the "Regulations on Open Military Camps of the People's Liberation Army," and other guidelines, deepening the public's understanding of national defense and military construction. This is of great significance for enhancing national defense awareness among the populace, inspiring patriotic sentiments towards the military, further strengthening military-civilian relations, and striving to gather powerful forces for a strong nation and military.

This year, the entire military will have over 700 units organizing more than 2,100 military open activities. Among them, heroic units such as the Army's "Liu Laozhuang Company," "Yang Gensi Company," and "Ice Sculpture Company" will open to the public during major holidays and commemorative dates such as the Army Day and the anniversary of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea; the Navy will conduct ship open days and city-ship co-construction activities in conjunction with the anniversary of the People's Navy, showcasing various main battle ships; the Air Force will carefully create the "Chasing Dreams in the Blue Sky" national defense education brand relying on aviation open activities and platforms like the "Zhuhai Airshow"; the Rocket Force will invite the public to closely experience the missile military camp's style through activities like "Military and Civilian as One Family: Approaching the Rocket Force"; and the Armed Police Force will conduct military summer camps and one-day military tours, demonstrating military skills such as capture and assassination techniques, climbing, and rappelling, showcasing the spirit and demeanor of loyal guardians.
