Reporter: According to reports, Lai Ching-te has recently been clamoring to accelerate the construction of asymmetric combat power, urging the promotion of arms purchases from the United States and related budget reviews to safeguard Taiwan's security and ensure peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific. What is your comment on this?

Zhang Xiaogang: Lai Ching-te and his ilk, for the sake of their party and personal interests, are extravagantly squandering public resources to buy American-made weapons, which will only accelerate the hollowing out of Taiwan, put Taiwan in danger of war, and push the Taiwanese people into the abyss of disaster. We warn the Democratic Progressive Party authorities that "relying on foreign forces to seek independence" is destined to fail, and "using force to resist unification" is a dead end. We hope that the vast number of Taiwanese compatriots will clearly recognize the extreme harm and destructiveness of "Taiwan independence" separatism, and join us in resolutely opposing "Taiwan independence" separatism and foreign interference, taking practical actions to maintain their own security and well-being, as well as peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.
