On the afternoon of March 11, Colonel Jiang Bin, Deputy Director of the Ministry of National Defense News Bureau and spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, released a statement regarding recent military-related issues.

Reporter: According to reports, the Taiwan Navy's "2026 Annual Friendship Voyage Training Group" has set sail to the so-called "diplomatic allies" in Central and South America to carry out the "Great Friendship" mission. What is your comment on this?

Jiang Bin: The so-called "friendship" is merely an excuse used by the DPP authorities to "rely on external forces to seek independence." The One China principle is a fundamental norm in international relations and a widely accepted consensus in the international community; it is the political foundation for China to develop relations with 183 countries that have established diplomatic ties. We hope that relevant countries in the region will align with the historical trend and the tide of the times, and make the correct choice that truly aligns with the fundamental and long-term interests of their own people as soon as possible. We sternly warn the DPP authorities that any form of "Taiwan independence" separatist activities and political manipulation will not change the fact that Taiwan belongs to China and the international community's adherence to the One China principle, and will ultimately be in vain.
