Multiple Regions in Ukraine Hit by Russian Airstrikes
On August 27, Xinhua News Agency reported from Kyiv (Reporter Li Dongxu) that Ukrainian Prime Minister Shmyhal stated on social media that from the evening of the 26th to the early morning of the 27th, the Russian military launched a new round of airstrikes against Ukraine, with attacks occurring in 10 regions including the capital city of Kyiv, Kharkiv Oblast, Odesa Oblast, Sumy Oblast, and Poltava Oblast, damaging several key infrastructures during the strikes.
Shmyhal mentioned that currently, about 300 rescue personnel and 100 sets of rescue equipment have been deployed by the Ukrainian side to carry out rescue operations in the attacked areas.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated on social media on the 27th that the Russian military launched missile strikes on Kyiv in the early morning, severely damaging a school building in the Shevchenkivskyi district, with the explosion shockwave causing damage to the windows and doors of a medical facility, and the Podilskyi district also came under attack. There have been no casualties reported from the strikes so far.
On the same day, the Kyiv police department stated on social media that the Darnytskyi district, Obolon district, Podilskyi district, and Shevchenkivskyi district were attacked, resulting in damage to residential buildings, vehicles, school buildings, and medical facilities, with no casualties reported so far.
On the 27th, the Ukrainian Air Force stated on social media that from the evening of the 26th to the early morning of the 27th, the Russian military launched 2 "Onyx" supersonic anti-ship missiles from Crimea, and fired multiple "Iskander-M" and KN-23 ballistic missiles from Bryansk Oblast and Kursk Oblast. The Russian military also launched 258 drones. As of 9 a.m. on the 27th, Ukrainian air defense and electronic warfare forces intercepted 1 "Onyx" supersonic anti-ship missile, 7 ballistic missiles, and 225 drones, with 15 locations in Ukraine being attacked, and another 11 locations hit by missile or drone debris.
