Netanyahu Claims to "Continue Full Force" Airstrikes on Iran, U.S. Media Reports Israel Fears Trump May Suddenly Call for Ceasefire

On March 25, Xinhua News Agency reported from Jerusalem/Washington that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that Israel is "continuing to exert full force" in its military actions against Iran. According to a report by the New York Times, Israel is racing against time to carry out as many airstrikes as possible on priority targets within Iran, amid concerns that U.S. President Trump may suddenly end the war.

Netanyahu made these remarks during a video conference with local government leaders from northern Israel on the same day. Sources from Israeli security agencies disclosed to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz that the focus of the Israeli military's airstrikes has shifted from Iranian government targets to military targets, including weapons production facilities and military assets.

The report stated that the Israel Defense Forces believe that striking military targets is crucial to preventing the Iranian military from restoring its military capabilities in the medium to long term.

On the 25th, the New York Times cited Israeli senior officials and informed sources, reporting that in light of the increasing possibility of negotiations between the U.S. and Iran, Netanyahu ordered on the 24th to destroy as many Iranian military industrial facilities as possible within the next 48 hours after learning that the U.S. was drafting a 15-point plan aimed at ending the conflict with Iran.

The report indicated that the Israeli government's sense of urgency reflects internal concerns about Trump potentially announcing the initiation of peace negotiations at any moment. The Israeli government believes that the 15-point plan fails to ensure adequate containment of Iran's nuclear program and ballistic missile capabilities.

Additionally, the Israeli Times reported that the "wartime restrictions" imposed on Israel's airspace are expected to last until April 16. Since the joint U.S.-Israel military action against Iran began on February 28, Israel's airspace has been closed to most commercial flights. Currently, only El Al Airlines is permitted to operate limited "wartime flights."
