Patria and United Aero Group (UAG) are advancing plans to enhance their strategic cooperation by establishing a forward stocking location and helicopter blade repair centre serving Europe. The companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Verticon in Atlanta, Georgia, on 10 March 2026, marking a significant step toward improving regional aviation maintenance capabilities.

The proposed facility would provide local access to critical spare parts and certified blade repairs, reducing turnaround times by an estimated 30% compared to current industry norms.

“Patria’s strong regional presence and operational capabilities combined with UAG’s global rotorcraft support expertise form a strong partnership. Together, Patria and UAG can minimize fleet downtime for European operators, accelerate access to mission-critical components, and offer certified blade repair services locally, strengthening the security of supply for helicopter fleets across Europe. This initiative supports Europe’s broader defence objectives, including those driven by programmes, such as EDIP,” says Pekka Ruutu, Patria’s Executive Vice President of Sustainment Solutions.

“Providing governmental and commercial rotorcraft operators with strong long-term solutions to keep their various fleets flying over Europe, operating at peak efficiency, with industry leading turn times, makes this a great partnership for the European market”, says Thomas Neumann, CEO of United Aero Group.

Many European operators currently face extended lead times for spare parts and must rely on overseas facilities for specialised repairs, leading to delays and inefficiencies. Localising access to critical spares and certified blade repairs is expected to reduce logistics costs and increase aircraft availability, particularly vital for military, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and Search and Rescue (SAR) missions where readiness is essential.
