On April 22, a border defense soldier on a mission at an altitude of 4,500 meters in the Ali region of Tibet suddenly fell ill, with his life hanging by a thread. He was urgently transported to the Army's 957 Hospital for emergency treatment in the early hours of April 24. Due to the severity of his condition, a remote joint consultation was held with experts from multiple hospitals, and an emergency air-ground relay transport spanning thousands of kilometers was immediately initiated.

At around 2 a.m. on April 25, the Western Theater Command Joint Command Center received a report. Due to the lack of direct flights from civil aviation, the commander comprehensively considered the mission situation and decided to use a Y-20 transport aircraft to transport the critically ill patient. In the cold wind, the medical staff escorted the patient onto the plane and provided accompanying monitoring. The Y-20 aircraft urgently flew to Ali at 5 a.m. Around 2 p.m., after air transport, the sick soldier safely arrived at Chongqing Jiangbei Airport. The emergency rescue team from the Army's Characteristic Medical Center, which had been waiting at the airport, quickly received him and immediately sent the patient to the intensive care unit.

Army's 957 Hospital Zhang Jingyu: The border defense unit is located in a remote area with very limited medical conditions. Considering that the medical conditions in the Ali region could not support further treatment, we immediately reported to our superiors and conducted a remote consultation with experts, ultimately deciding to airlift the soldier to a rear hospital for further treatment.

The hospital opened a green channel for emergency treatment, organized expert consultations, and comprehensively assessed the patient's condition; medical staff took shifts to stand by and exerted all efforts for rescue. After precise treatment and meticulous care, the infection in the soldier's body has been fully controlled, and he is now out of danger.

Army's Characteristic Medical Center Intensive Care Unit Wang Zhen: Under the careful treatment and care of the multidisciplinary team at the center, the soldier's physical condition is gradually improving, and all vital signs are stabilizing. We will do our utmost to ensure that this highland soldier, who guards the country, recovers as soon as possible.
