Robot Dogs Participate in Search and Transport, Various Unmanned Equipment Debuts in China-Laos Joint Exercise

Yesterday, the China-Laos "Peace Train-2026" humanitarian medical rescue joint exercise entered the mixed joint training phase. Both sides completed the setup of medical tents and functional carriages for secondary treatment institutions in just half a day under the scorching heat at the southern station of Vientiane, Laos, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent full-process joint training.

The exercise established multiple groups, including command group, triage group, reception and treatment group, intensive care group, surgical group, and medical support group, with mixed teams of officers and soldiers from both China and Laos conducting training simultaneously.

The Chinese team members first explained and demonstrated the criteria for the evacuation of injured personnel and triage classification, the infection control zones in the surgical carriage, the standards for instrument transfer, and the use of the onboard X-ray machine, followed by discussions and exchanges between both sides on different medical operation processes and the use of medical equipment. Meanwhile, the Chinese participating team members also utilized drones, unmanned vehicles, and quadruped robotic dogs to explain and demonstrate techniques for searching for injured personnel, transporting them, and delivering supplies to the Laotian participating team members.

"Peace Train-2026" medical team member Li Junjie: The six essential trauma care techniques: hemostasis, bandaging, immobilization, transportation, ventilation, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation are necessary skills. However, there are certain differences in operational details between the two militaries, so we first conducted some demonstrative training operations to lay a solid foundation for the success of the later exercises.
