On the 17th local time, Russia claimed to have attacked Ukrainian military targets in the port of Odesa. Ukraine reported strikes on a factory in Russia's Rostov region.

On the afternoon of the 17th, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that over the past 24 hours, Russian forces had taken control of two settlements in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. Russian forces targeted Ukrainian military infrastructure, drone assembly workshops, and storage sites, as well as temporary deployment points for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and foreign mercenaries. Russian forces also used attack drones to strike Ukrainian patrol boats in the port of Odesa and several fuel tanks. Additionally, the Russian air defense system shot down 12 precision-guided aerial bombs, 2 U.S.-made HIMARS rockets, and 797 fixed-wing drones.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on the morning of the 17th that over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces had attacked 12 concentration areas of Russian troops. Ukrainian forces destroyed 2,093 Russian drones as well as tanks, armored vehicles, artillery systems, and other equipment. On the night of the 16th, Ukrainian forces attacked a factory in Russia's Rostov region, completely destroying two workshops for the production of explosives and gunpowder, while four other workshops sustained varying degrees of damage. It is reported that this factory is an important military-industrial supplier for Russia, with core products including solid rocket fuel.
