Russia Develops New Type of Drone Swarm Control System
On April 14, Xinhua News Agency reported from Moscow (Reporter Wang Zuokui) that the Russian National Technology Group announced on its official website that the newly developed control system for a new type of attack drone swarm has passed preliminary testing and could be used in the future for precise strikes on complex targets.
The announcement introduced that the new system is based on the "Supercam" drone and consists of aircraft-type cruise missiles with improved data transmission, launch devices, and ground control stations. Through this system, each operator can control up to 10 drones to search target areas. The drone that first detects a target will automatically forward the data information to other drones. After receiving confirmation from the operator, the system will automatically assign tasks to command the drones to initiate a swarm attack, effectively breaking through the opponent's air defense systems and striking complex targets.
The announcement stated that in preliminary tests, the new system successfully hit its targets. Currently, related research and testing work is still ongoing.
