The power of one such missile is equivalent to six "Iskander" missiles.
According to data from Ukrainian intelligence, Russia is said to have deployed six KN-30 launch systems, capable of launching a total of up to 120 missiles. As of July, Russia reportedly possesses three types of North Korean ballistic missiles: KN-23, KN-24, and KN-30, with a total of about 50 missiles. The Ukrainian side pointed out that this poses a strike threat to seven regions of Ukraine.
Military experts noted that due to the high level of secrecy surrounding the new missile, little is currently known about it. Reports indicate that this short-range ballistic missile was test-fired at the end of 2024, capable of delivering a 2.5-ton warhead within a range of 600 to 900 kilometers, and a 4.5-ton warhead within a range of over 300 kilometers.
Russian military analyst Yuri Podolyaka stated: "This is exactly what we need to destroy particularly hard targets (including bridges across the Dnieper River)."
Russian military expert Vasily Dandkin said: "In terms of performance parameters, the range of the KN-30 is quite impressive. If an attack is launched from Bryansk Oblast towards the enemy, it can easily reach Kyiv, not to mention Dnipro Oblast, where there are also many important targets. If two to three of these missiles are fired at a bridge, I believe there is a chance to destroy any bridge."
