Russian military receives Kalashnikov electric transport vehicles

Russia’s Kalashnikov Concern has delivered a batch of newly developed electric transport vehicles to a military unit for use in the combat zone, the company announced.

According to the company, the shipment included Izh-Enduro electric motorcycles and Izh-ScootWay electric scooters produced in-house and equipped with universal trailers for cargo transport. All vehicles were supplied with trailers capable of carrying up to 200 kilograms, allowing troops to move ammunition, equipment, and other supplies in areas with limited mobility and difficult terrain.

Kalashnikov said the new models were developed in 2025 by specialists at the company’s prototyping center as an internal initiative, based on requests from potential customers. The vehicles are designed for use in conditions where conventional transport is limited by terrain, visibility, or noise restrictions.

The Izh-Enduro electric motorcycle and the two-seat high-mobility Izh-ScootWay electric scooter are classified as low-noise transport systems and are intended for combat and special missions requiring maneuverability and reduced acoustic signature. The company said these characteristics make the platforms suitable for operations close to the front line, including resupply and short-range transport tasks.

As noted by Kalashnikov, both models are capable of reaching speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour and are designed to operate in harsh climates and off-road environments. During development, engineers reinforced mounting points, introduced a quick-release trailer attachment system, and improved loading ergonomics to support rapid use under field conditions.

The Izh-Enduro electric motorcycle weighs approximately 100 kilograms and is powered by a lithium-ion battery, providing a range of up to 100 kilometers depending on operating conditions. The platform is intended to carry a rider and tow a cargo trailer while maintaining mobility on uneven ground.

The Izh-ScootWay electric scooter is a two-seat vehicle with increased suspension travel and is designed to carry both cargo and a passenger, with a combined load capacity of up to 300 kilograms. Like the motorcycle, it can travel up to 100 kilometers on a single charge and is intended for use on rough terrain and in restricted-access areas.

Kalashnikov stated that the vehicles are currently produced in limited batches and are manufactured mainly for special orders. The company did not disclose the number of units delivered or the specific military unit that received them, citing operational considerations.

Kalashnikov has been supplying a range of equipment to Russian forces, including small arms, loitering munitions, and ground systems, as part of its role as a key defense manufacturer. The introduction of electric motorcycles and scooters adds a new category of equipment aimed at improving mobility at the tactical level.
