Russian Official: Strikes Against Kyiv "Could Be Launched at Any Time"
On May 28, Xinhua News Agency reported from Moscow (Reporter Xu Weikai) that the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Shoigu, stated to Russian media that the Russian Armed Forces' strike operations against Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, "could be launched at any time."
Shoigu mentioned that all actions taken by Russia are open and transparent, and the country never conceals this, adding that "some actions" will even be preceded by warnings. Russia has notified various countries' ambassadors to evacuate Kyiv, and this warning is "serious in attitude and clear in intent," indicating that relevant actions could indeed be implemented at any time.
After using "Zircon" hypersonic missiles and other weapons to strike Ukraine on the 24th, Russia stated on the 25th that it would continue its strikes while urging foreign diplomats and citizens to evacuate Kyiv.
According to TASS, Dmitry Polyanskiy, Russia's permanent representative to the OSCE, stated on the 28th that Europe is continuously supplying weapons to Ukraine, increasing military forces at the Russian border, and deliberately guiding European public opinion to make people believe that war with Russia is inevitable. He said, "Europe is moving towards war with Russia at an astonishing speed."
On the same day, the Russian Embassy in Sweden commented on Sweden's decision to provide "Gripen" fighter jets to Ukraine, stating that such measures would only lead to further escalation of the conflict.
