According to a report from the Russian Ministry of Defense on September 8, the Russian military launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine using land-based, air-based, and sea-based precision weapons and long-range attack drones from late night on the 7th to early morning on the 8th. Ukrainian President Zelensky stated that the attack resulted in 2 deaths and 10 injuries in Kyiv.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian military targeted the drone, cruise missile production, and storage facilities of Ukraine's defense industrial complex, military logistics and distribution centers located in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, as well as military cargo handling facilities at the Chornomorsk port in Odesa Oblast. Additionally, the Russian military struck a tanker that was transporting fuel and lubricants for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Zelensky posted on social media that several residential buildings and civilian infrastructure in Kyiv suffered severe damage. As of now, there have been 2 deaths and 10 injuries. Furthermore, a market in Odesa Oblast was attacked, and an apartment building in Kharkiv Oblast was hit, resulting in 2 injuries.

The Ukrainian Air Force stated on social media that as of 8:30 AM on the 8th, there were 29 locations within Ukraine that had been attacked by missiles and drones, with an additional 9 locations hit by missile or drone debris.
