On April 4, Xinhua News Agency reported from Moscow (Reporter Huang He) that the CEO of the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation, Alexey Likhachev, stated in an interview that after the attack on the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in Iran, the company's staff at the plant began to evacuate by bus to the Iran-Armenia border, planning to return to Russia by flight from Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. The first group of evacuees consisted of 198 people.

Likhachev stated that the attack on the 4th occurred within the protective area near the nuclear power plant, resulting in the death of one Iranian citizen. He said it is still unclear whether this was an accident or a deliberate attack, but the situation around the nuclear power plant is developing in the least optimistic direction, and the risk of a nuclear accident is increasing.

The Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant is the only operational nuclear power plant in Iran.
