Saha Expo 2026 – Viettel’s “Drone Slayer” targets the UAV threat head-on

Vietnam’s Viettel High Tech is stepping onto the counter-UAS stage at Saha 2026 with a compact, layered system designed to detect, track and defeat a wide range of drone threats. Presented internationally for the first time at the Istanbul exhibition, the solution underlines the company’s growing ambitions in electronic warfare and air defence

The system combines a 3D radar, passive RF detection and an EO/IR suite to deliver robust multi-sensor coverage. The radar is optimised to detect small UAVs with very low radar cross-sections at ranges beyond 5 km, while RF sensors monitor frequencies from roughly 400 MHz to 6 GHz, enabling early, passive detection of control links.

For identification, the stabilised electro-optical payload integrates a daylight camera and thermal imager, allowing visual confirmation at several kilometres. This layered approach ensures reliable tracking even in cluttered or contested environments.

Neutralisation is primarily achieved through electronic attack. Directional jamming disrupts GNSS signals and command links. The system can engage multiple drones simultaneously, adapting its jamming response to evolving threats.

A unified command-and-control interface ties the system together, offering real-time situational awareness and AI-assisted target classification to reduce operator workload.

Designed for flexibility, the Viettel C-UAS can be deployed as a fixed installation or mounted on vehicles, with rapid set-up times suited to both infrastructure protection and mobile operations.

With its Saha debut, Viettel delivers a credible and modern answer to the fast-growing drone threat, positioning itself in an increasingly competitive global market.
