Xinhua News Agency, Kuwait City, October 13 (Reporter Yin Zhao) - Sana'a reports: Saudi Arabia launched airstrikes on the capital Sana'a controlled by the Houthi armed group on the 13th, triggering a series of intense explosions. The Houthi armed group threatened to retaliate against Saudi Arabia.

The Houthi-controlled Masirah TV reported that a facility of the Yemen Petroleum Company located in the Sabaha area west of Sana'a was hit by Saudi airstrikes. There are currently no reports of casualties, and the extent of damage to the facility is unclear.

According to a source from the Yemen Petroleum Company cited in the report, there were no oil products stored at the facility at the time of the attack, and it does not have military value.

Meanwhile, Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree issued a statement on social media saying that Houthi forces are "currently intercepting Saudi fighter jets attacking Sana'a."

Local residents in Sana'a told Xinhua reporters that several loud explosions were heard in various parts of the city, causing panic among some citizens. Due to concerns that the escalating conflict might affect fuel supplies, some residents rushed to gas stations, forming long lines.

Previously, the Saudi-led coalition announced that it was preparing to carry out a "special military operation" in Sana'a. The coalition then urged civilians to immediately evacuate the facilities of the Yemen Petroleum Company located in the Sabaha area and released a map indicating the location of the facilities, stating that this was to protect civilian safety before the operation began.

Before the airstrikes occurred, the Houthi armed group warned that any attack on Sana'a would result in retaliation against the Saudi capital, Riyadh. The Houthi armed group also urged experts, engineers, and other personnel to stay away from Saudi oil facilities that could become targets and once again warned airlines, travelers, and airport staff not to use Saudi airports and airspace.
