"Sky War Horses" Lives Up to Its Name! On-Site Coverage of Maritime Three-Dimensional Landing Operations Training
In the vast ocean, who can "take the lead"? On the ocean, the Type 075 amphibious assault ship Anhui cuts through the waves, launching a multi-service joint maritime landing operation exercise.
At the exercise site, shipborne helicopters are lined up on the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship Anhui. The Anhui is conducting joint maritime training with the Marine Corps and naval aviation forces to test the overall combat effectiveness of various equipment. Fully armed Marines are orderly boarding the shipborne helicopters, preparing to execute landing operation tasks.
Rapidly delivering combat forces to the shore is key to amphibious operations. The most efficient delivery method is to comprehensively use vertical lift vehicles for troop deployment, which can cross enemy coastal defenses in the shortest time, open breaches, carry out transport and strike missions, and quickly seize target positions, thereby supporting subsequent forces in launching an attack.
The design of the Anhui's through-deck flight deck allows it to carry multiple types of helicopters to perform diversified combat missions. This seemingly ordinary vertical landing training involves various combat elements, including ships, the Marine Corps, and aviation forces. Each link is an important component of the joint combat force.
Participating in this transport mission is the multi-purpose large shipborne helicopter Z-8, which is currently the largest domestic helicopter family by tonnage. The Z-8 of the naval aviation forces is already the third generation member of the Z-8 family, primarily tasked with troop transport missions.
The Z-8 helicopter is characterized by its large size, long range, spacious interior, and strong transport capacity. Capable of carrying both personnel and cargo, the Z-8 helicopter is truly the "air warhorse" in vertical landing operations.
Upon reaching the beach, the transport helicopter carrying the special operations team descends into the deep area to launch an assault. Meanwhile, amphibious armored equipment provides alternating cover, autonomously choosing strike methods to carry out precise strikes against enemy bunkers, anti-armor fire points, and remaining targets, ultimately successfully seizing key points and occupying positions.
