The 48th Escort Task Force of the Chinese Navy Arrives in Myanmar for a Friendly Visit
Xinhua News Agency, Yangon, September 24 (Du Jiangfan, Xu Taotao) The 48th Chinese Navy escort fleet arrived at Yangon Port in Myanmar on the 24th, beginning a 5-day friendly visit to Myanmar.
At around 14:00 local time, the Navy ships Tangshan, Daqing, and Taihu, flying the flags of China and Myanmar, slowly entered Yangon Port. Weapons were adjusted to ceremonial angles, and the officers and soldiers lined up in sections on the deck, looking sharp and spirited, waving to the welcoming crowd.
On the dock, banners reading "Warm welcome to the 48th Chinese Navy escort fleet's visit to Myanmar" and "China-Myanmar friendship lasts forever" were particularly eye-catching. Over 300 people, including military and political officials from the Myanmar side, representatives of officers and soldiers, staff from the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, and representatives from Chinese-funded institutions and overseas Chinese, waved the flags of both countries to welcome the Chinese Navy escort fleet. The Myanmar military band played welcoming music, creating a solemn and warm atmosphere on site.
During the visit, the fleet commander will meet with military and political leaders from the Myanmar side, and both sides will engage in professional exchanges, ship tours, cultural and sports exchanges, and a deck reception among other activities.
