The Djibouti Base Conducts Mosquito Control and Prevention Activities in the Local Community
Recently, the Chinese People's Liberation Army stationed at the Djibouti Support Base, in conjunction with the Djibouti Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Djibouti Ministry of Health, conducted a mosquito eradication and epidemic prevention activity in the town of Wia, located in the Altar region of Djibouti. Wia is an important transportation hub in the suburbs of Djibouti City, the capital of Djibouti. The purpose of this activity is to reduce the risk of mosquito-borne disease transmission and to protect the health of residents in Wia and the surrounding areas.

The launch ceremony of the activity was held at the Wia Town Hospital. At the event, medical personnel from the Djibouti Support Base gave presentations on mosquito eradication and epidemic prevention knowledge and conducted on-site teaching for the production of fly traps and mosquito cups. Subsequently, both parties jointly carried out comprehensive disinfection in the jurisdiction of Wia Town. This activity was well received by the local population and attracted attention from local media.

Dr. Nasser, the Director-General of the Djibouti National Public Health Research Institute, hopes to carry out more fruitful cooperation with the base in medical training in the future.
The person in charge of the Djibouti Support Base stated that the mosquito eradication and epidemic prevention activity jointly launched by both parties has protected the health of the people in Wia Town and the surrounding areas, and further deepened the friendly cooperative relationship between them.
