The French Defense Procurement Agency (DGA) chooses Soframe to equip the French Army with Heavy Recovery Vehicles (ELD)

22 January 2026 – Following a competition launched in the spring of 2025 by the French Defense Procurement Agency, Soframe’soffer was selected to equip the French Army with Heavy Recovery Vehicles (ELD). The resulting framework contract was notified to Soframeand provides for an initial delivery of 20 units in 2027including 5 before the end of the first semester. These Heavy Recovery Vehicles are eagerly awaited by the French Army and will contribute to its goal of equipping the Combat Division in 2027. The framework contract allows for the optional order of up to 80 additional units to significantly increase the current allocation.

These ELDs are very similar to the Protected Recovery Vehicles (PRV) delivered by Soframeto the Belgian Army, further strengthening cooperation between the Belgian and French armed forces. Industrially, as for the PRV, the collaboration is European, as Soframeonce again relies on its major partners: Jigé International, FN, and Daimler Trucks.
