The Israeli army claims it will continue to respond to Hezbollah's "violations of the ceasefire agreement."
On June 19, Xinhua News Agency reported from Jerusalem (reporters Chen Junqing and Pang Xinyi) that a spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces stated that the Israeli military will continue to respond to any "violations of the ceasefire agreement" by Hezbollah.
The spokesperson accused Hezbollah of continuously violating the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon for several weeks, stating that "Israel cannot accept such a reality," which is the reason for the Israeli military's continued operations in southern Lebanon.
He stated that the goal of the Israeli military is to ensure that Hezbollah cannot rebuild and cannot pose a threat to Israeli civilians.
After the United States and Israel launched a large-scale military operation against Iran on February 28, hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah reignited on March 2. The two sides began a temporary ceasefire for ten days on April 17, which has been extended multiple times. However, since the ceasefire took effect, there have still been multiple clashes between the two sides.
According to Israeli media reports earlier on the 19th, the Israeli military stated that one commander and three soldiers were killed in an attack by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon on the evening of the 18th. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu posted on social media on the evening of the 19th that since midnight that day, the Israeli military has struck 150 Hezbollah targets within Lebanon, killing dozens of Hezbollah militants. Data from the Lebanese Ministry of Health shows that from midnight to the afternoon of the 19th, Israeli airstrikes in various locations in Lebanon have resulted in at least 47 deaths and 97 injuries.
According to the Israel Times, Israel and Hezbollah have agreed to a ceasefire in Lebanon again, which took effect at 4 PM local time on the 19th. However, the Lebanese National News Agency reported that after the agreement to ceasefire, Israeli warplanes still launched airstrikes in the Jezzine area of southern Lebanon, while Israeli drones continued to hover intensively over multiple towns in southern and western Lebanon.
The Israeli Defense Forces continue military operations in southern Lebanon in response to violations of the ceasefire agreement by Hezbollah. On June 18, a Hezbollah attack killed 1 Israeli commander and 3 soldiers. Following this, Israeli airstrikes targeted 150 Hezbollah positions, resulting in significant casualties. Despite a ceasefire agreement effective June 19, airstrikes continued in southern Lebanon.
